Local govt 'needs skilled workers'

African universities are key to remaking the continent, former president Thabo Mbeki says, adding Africa will overcome the challenges of poverty and underdevelopment not because of its wealth in natural resources, but because of its intellectual ability properly to manage and utilise these resources.

Think of South African wine and you think of the Western Cape. However, Diemersfontein's Pinotage on Tap festival is taking wine to four venues around the country in a move that is set to ignite the 2010 wine calendar.
