SA paintmaker secures export orders
South African automotive paint manufacturer ChemSpec has secured export orders for its premium automotive refinish, Metalux 2, to Mauritius and China, while it is also in talks with a major South East Asian company to partner it in that region.
US orders more SA armoured vehicles
General Dynamics Land Systems Canada has secured yet another order from the US defence department, this time worth US$552-million, for 773 mine-resistant vehicles - with production to be shared with South Africa's BAE Systems Land Systems OMC.

Volkswagen South Africa, along with catalytic converter and exhaust systems manufacturer Eberspächer SA, have been awarded a R12-billion contract to supply the Volkswagen Group with diesel particulate filters for the next five years.
US buys more SA armoured vehicles
South Africa-based Land Systems OMC is to manufacture 111 RG-31 mine-protected personnel carriers for the US Army. The RG-31 is the mine-protected vehicle of choice for peacekeepers, with an all-steel welded monocoque hull that protects its crew from both anti-personnel fire and anti-tank mines.
