Global slowdown 'to test SA's policies'
The prevailing turmoil on international markets will greatly test South Africa's economic policies, says President Kgalema Motlanthe, adding that increased skills development, infrastructure spending and regional trade will be needed to keep the country's economy growing.

South Africa's economic fundamentals remain strong, its external debt is low and its financial system is resilient, the IMF says in its latest country report. Recent developments, however, have heightened the country's economic vulnerabilities and made its growth targets more challenging.
